Now that people are starting to get their tax paperwork from their employers, students at LTC are once again offering tax preparation services.
Since 2005, students in the accounting program have been helping the lakeshore area do their taxes at no charge.
Students cannot accept any type of compensation for their assistance, including tips or gifts, and for your state of mind, students are supervised to ensure forms are completed accurately.
Last year, students provided over 500 hours of community service while preparing 149 returns at LTC’s Cleveland campus.
Their efforts generated $239,000 in federal and state refunds for clients.
