The man who was convicted in a shooting at the Fox River Mall will be sentenced today.
18-year-old Dezman Ellis was found guilty to a no-contest plea on charges of 2nd Degree Reckless Homicide, and 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety.
Ellis shot 19-year-old Jovanni Frausto and Colt Lemmers in the food court of the mall on January 31st of last year during an argument over a girl.
Frausto was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Lemmers was treated and released from the hospital.
Ellis will avoid a life sentence due to his plea agreement but could still spend as many as 40 years in prison.
He will be in court at 1:00 this afternoon.
