Changes may finally be coming to the former Mirro Site near downtown Manitowoc.
It is being reported that Milwaukee-based Wire Capital Group has submitted an offer to create housing and green space on the site at the corner of South 16th and Washington Streets.
The proposal calls for the construction of a 59-unit building that will contain a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments.
This project is estimated to cost around $16 million, and would also include a community room, and underground parking.
Since the site still has to be decontaminated, the City would sell the property for $1, while Newell Rubbermaid would have to pay $300,000 for the decontamination clean-up.
