A Milwaukee police officer was shot multiple times Thursday evening while exchanging gunfire with a suspect.
That suspect was taken into custody.
The incident was the second time in two days and the third time this month that a Milwaukee area law enforcement officer has been wounded.
The officer’s name hasn’t been released.
26-year-old Milwaukee County Deputy Christian Almonte was wounded Wednesday.
Almonte was released from the hospital Thursday after treatment for multiple gunshot wounds.
