A large percentage of Wisconsin Public Service customers in Mishicot is currently without power.
According to the WPS outage webpage, the lights are out at 87.9% of customers in the village, as well as multiple in homes in Franklin, Gibson, Kossuth, Two Creeks, Two Rivers, and the Kewaunee County Town of Carlton.
A listener called in and reported that it was due to a vehicle crash that took down a power pole, but we have not received confirmation from the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department on that just yet.
WPS estimates that power will be restored by around 10:15 AM.
Students in the Mishicot School District are being released early.
Busses will be leaving the school at around 10:00 AM according to Superintendent Paul Orlich.
Orlich also told us in an email, “There is no afternoon 4k or Early Childhood. After-school activities for today are on hold until further notice. Our phone system is also down across the district, but we do have single land lines in each of the offices if you need to contact us. Be patient as we expect they will be busy.
