The U-S Coast Guard is reporting it will close the southern part of Green Bay to commercial shipping effective today (January 24th).
Officials say the move will affect the bay waters southwest of a line between Peshtigo Point and Sherwood Point.
Port Director Dean Haen calls in a good season with around two million tons shipped.
Haen said that is an indication of a good, strong economy in northeastern Wisconsin.
The last commercial ship is scheduled to arrive today.
