Three bills written by a local Senator have advanced in the state legislature. Senator Andre Jacque’s bills known as Investigating Adults-at-Risk Abuse, and Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Account Participation Act have both advanced to the Governor’s desk. Both of these bills aim to help at risk adults in various ways.
Also, Jacque’s “Heroes for Healthcare” measure has passed the Assembly. Sen. Jacque said that this bill “will enable those veterans who recently served in a military medical assignment to practice under appropriate supervision while they seek the required education and credentials of their role.”
The measure now has to pass the Senate Committee on Veterans and Military Affairs and Constitution and Federalism. it must then move through the full Senate, at which point it can be signed by the Governor to become law.
