A bill that looks to expand upon previous legislation regarding epi-pen availability has cleared a major hurdle.
The Bill known as Dillon’s Law 2.0 recently passed the State Assembly, with only the Senate and a Governor’s signature the only things left in its way.
Dillon’s Law 2.0 was brought forth by State Senator Andre Jacque of De Pere and Assemblyman Shae Sortwell of Two Rivers as they look to expand on the first iteration.
The bill, named after 18-year-old Dillon Mueller of Mishicot who died from an allergic reaction to a bee sting, makes it so people can more easily get, and administer epinephrine injectors, which would help protect from another tragedy.
Sen. Jacque said in a news release that since its inception in 2018, the original Dillon’s Law has already saved “at least seven lives and has also been successfully enacted in Minnesota, Indiana, and Illinois.”
