Republicans in the Wisconsin Legislature are introducing a series of bills making it easier to force people off unemployment and medical assistance.
State Senator Chris Kapenga says Wisconsin businesses aren’t able to find workers because too many people are getting assistance.
The legislation would also increase surveillance of job searches conducted by the Department of Workforce Development.
Assembly Minority Leader Greta Neubauer says the bills do nothing to actually support employment.
It isn’t likely that Governor Evers would be willing to sign them into law.
