A Manitowoc man has been sentenced in a fentanyl trafficking case.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Wisconsin, 32-year-old Anthony C. Martinez will spend the next nine and a half years in prison for his role in the distribution of fentanyl in the Manitowoc area.
Court documents revealed that Martinez drove to Milwaukee multiple times last summer, where, in total, he would obtain over two pounds of the synthetic opioid from 42-year-old Jabari Samuel.
Martinez would then bring the fentanyl back to the Manitowoc area for distribution.
A search of Samuel’s home uncovered an estimated additional 3.7 pounds of fentanyl, a firearm, and approximately $17,000 in cash.
Both men were arrested after a thorough investigation by the Manitowoc Metro Drug Unit.
Samuel was sentenced to 15-years in prison as well.
