Milwaukee police say two teenage suspects are in custody after a Thursday afternoon incident that left an off-duty officer wounded.
Investigators say the 37-year-old officer tried to stop a robbery in the city’s Third Ward when he was wounded at about 2:00 p-m.
He was able to describe a getaway car and it was stopped after a chase.
Police say several suspects took off running and two of them – one 17 and one 18 – were taken into custody.
The officer’s name hasn’t been released.
He is being treated for multiple gunshot wounds at Froedtert Hospital and is listed in stable condition.
