The teenager that allegedly set a fire that killed her 11-month-old nephew will have to wait a little longer to have her day in court.
The trial for 17-year-old Marcelia Fonseca has been delayed until May 31st.
The delay is due to attorneys continuing to work through the pre-trial evidentiary motions, the hearings for which are now scheduled for February 22nd and 24th.
Fonseca, who is being tried as an adult, has been charged with Arson and 1st Degree Intentional Homicide as she reportedly set a fire in a home in the 2500 block of Wisconsin Avenue on June 7th, 2019.
The fire was started only a few feet from a playpen containing Fonseca’s 11-month-old nephew.
Fonseca’s request to have the case moved to juvenile court was previously denied.
