Two Kiel residents are recovering from injuries sustained in a crash yesterday morning.
According to Major Jason Orth with the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department, 56-year-old Andrew Schnell of rural Kiel was driving south on Steinthal Road at around 6:30 AM, when he crossed the center line near Ucker Point Creek Road.
His vehicle collided with another vehicle being driven by 61-year-old Marie Hughes, also from Kiel.
Both drivers, and sole occupants of the vehicles, were initially trapped in their cars, but were quickly extracted, and taken by ambulance to nearby hospitals with what were described as “suspected minor injuries”.
The roadway was closed for a time as crews towed the vehicles, and cleaned up the debris.
