Nurses at Racine hospital say a pregnant woman was using drugs in the labor and delivery department.
30-year-old Cassandra Y. Bernay faces three felony counts of drug possession.
Two felonies have been filed in Racine County court against 31-year-old Michael R. Navarro – the man accused of supplying the heroin Bernay was using.
The incident happened last Friday at Ascension All Saints Hospital in Racine.
A nurse told the responding officer Bernay seemed to be “out of it” and that the patient admitted using heroin.
Navarro was seen leaving and returning to Bernay’s room about six times.
Both suspects are scheduled for court hearings Thursday.
