The HSHS Hospital System in Wisconsin and Illinois is reporting a record-high number of COVID-19 patients.
According to statistics released by the hospital system, as of January 7th, 303 COVID patients were being treated in their 15 hospitals in both states, with 230 of them reportedly unvaccinated.
This averages out to just over 20 per hospital, but it is likely the patients are not evenly distributed.
Of those patients, 64 are in the ICU, and 32 are on ventilators.
HSHS is encouraging the public to find a local vaccine and testing locations in your community, and not to get tested in an HSHS emergency room or urgent care facility.
