Shipbuilders Credit Union in Manitowoc has announced Mike Steimle, President, and CEO, is retiring after 22-years of leadership.
Steimle joined Shipbuilders Credit Union in January 2000 when there were only four employees and a small building on the corner of South 9th and Jay Streets.
Shipbuilders has since grown to nearly 35 employees with three branch locations in Manitowoc and Mishicot.
Steimle said “Growing the credit union was the fun part…putting the puzzle together.”
The outgoing executive added while the numbers and ratios are important, he says he’s most proud of Shipbuilders Credit Union’s employees and their commitment to the local community and its’ members.
Steimle explains “I’m proud of the team that has worked hard together to get the job done to serve our members.”
He will remain active at Shipbuilders CU during a transition period with a successor who will be publicly announced soon.
