With the significant snowfall the lakeshore area has received, here is a friendly reminder to shovel and de-ice your sidewalk.
Not only is it the courteous thing to do, but it is also the law.
According to the Manitowoc City website, “Snow and Ice must be removed from sidewalks by property owners, lessees, and occupants. Failure to do so will result in a notice sent by the Streets and Sanitation Division. Failure to remove snow and ice from walkways within three (3) days of this notice will result in city staff removing the snow and ice, and assessing the property owner the costs of this action.”
You can report a sidewalk that has not had snow or ice removed in a timely manner also on the City website.
