A Manitowoc man was arrested on New Year’s Day after he allegedly made derogatory comments toward women and threatened law enforcement.
An officer was on patrol near Déjà Vu on Buffalo Street at around 4:00 AM when he saw a group of women exit the bar, followed by a 31-year-old male.
The man was heard yelling sexist and derogatory comments at the group of women, one of which he had dated in the past.
The officer approached the man, who ignored commands to stop, so the officer grabbed him to place him in custody.
The man resisted, continually pulling away from the officer, but was eventually placed in the back of a squad car.
The man told the officer he was going to kill him and kicked the officer multiple times.
The man was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Resisting an Officer, Threatening Law Enforcement, and Attempted Battery to Law Enforcement.
