School safety continues to be a big topic of conversation in both the Manitowoc and Green Bay Area Public School Districts.
In Green Bay, there were several threats made at Preble High School, and a student brought a gun to East High School, which resulted in classes going virtual for a couple of days ahead of the winter break.
Superintendent Stephen Murley says that there may be some new safety protocols in place once students return.
He explained that the District is looking into the possibility of limiting backpacks, and reducing entry points, much as they did prior to the break.
However, Murley said they likely will not be checking IDs which is something they tried prior to the break as well.
Murley also thanked the Police Department for their help in keeping students safe during the hectic final week of the semester.
