The Waukesha Public Library is becoming a safe haven for some people after the Christmas parade tragedy last month.
Library staff members took in about 150 people in the hours after the incident that left six dead and dozens injured.
The library is still finding ways to support the Waukesha community a month later.
Working with Healing Hearts of Southeast Wisconsin, the library has created what are being called Compassion Kits.
The kits are designed for four different age groups, from preschool kids to adults. About 75 have been distributed so far.
The adult kits include a list of books for dealing with grief and a list of mental health resources that are available.
