Continuing the mission for Grow it Forward, their newest adventure will feature healthy food for residents in Manitowoc County.
We spoke with Matthew Brooke, who recently moved into Manitowoc, and since then has been following Grow it Forward as they helped those in need during the pandemic.
He told Seehafer News that he wanted to get a job within the organization, and when the Café Manager position at Cafe Harmony became available, he jumped at the opportunity.
“I was a Café buyer for Whole Foods. They had a coffee bar there, and I filled in intermediately throughout my six years of being there. I gained a lot of experience along the way,” Brooke explained. “I see big things in the works. I’m really excited to get started.”
Brooke explained that there will be a major focus on health-conscious food options at the Café.
“The menu is primarily what we grow at our hydroponic garden,” Brooke revealed. “It will feature salads, wraps, healthier options.”
Grow it Forward has also teamed up with another Wisconsin business to supply them with their coffee beans, Boom Brothers.
“They do have a really quality product, and everything is fair trade, which we like,” Brooke said. “Dan, the owner, I have met with him a few times…and he is really interested in being a part in doing what we love.”
Café Harmony will be opening up on January 8th, and will operate in the same space as Hipp Juice, in what used to be the nave of the former St. Johns Church at 1501 Marshall Street.
Their hours of operation will be from 8:00 until 4:00 PM Wednesday through Saturday.
