A Manitowoc County woman who was caught by an audit has been ordered to pay back the money she stole.
Forty-nine-year-old Christine Ringmeier will be on probation for the next three years. A jail term of 90 days was stayed by the judge. Ringmeier had entered a no-contest plea to nine misdemeanor charges.
Originally, she had faced more than 40 charges. The name of the business hasn’t been released.
Ringmeier said she wrote more than three dozen unauthorized checks to herself to pay for personal and medical bills. She has reportedly already paid back 15,000 dollars.
