It may have come the day after Christmas, but Eastern Wisconsin finally has its first layer of snow.
A winter weather system made its way into the area in the overnight hours, leaving roughly half an inch of the white stuff.
According to Weatherology.com, light snow will continue until around 10:00 this morning.
As a reminder, if you are going anywhere today, give yourself some extra time to completely clean the snow off your vehicle, including the roof, but also to account for any potentially slippery conditions on the roadway.
Also, it is suggested that when you walk on icy sidewalks to take short choppy steps to avoid slips and falls.
