32,000 registered voters were deactivated over the summer in Wisconsin.
The Wisconsin Elections Commission took that action after a legal fight that had gone on for two years.
The conservative Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty had argued the commission should have deactivated the voters who had moved within 30 days.
The new lawsuit filed Wednesday in federal court in Madison argues the 31,584 voters should still be on the rolls because they weren’t told it could happen and weren’t given a deadline to respond.
