He was spectacular as a freshman, and that’s why Badgers running back Braelon Allen has been named a finalist for the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year award.
This will be the fourth time the award has been handed out by the Maxwell Football Club.
Previous winners have been Trevor Lawrence of Clemson, Kenneth Gainwell of Memphis, and Will Anderson Junior of Alabama.
In addition to the six-foot-two, 238-pound Allen, this year’s other finalists are Ohio State quarterback C-J Stroud and running back TreVeyon Henderson, Georgia tight end Brock Bowers, and Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy.
The winner will be announced January 10th.
