The Packers keep hoping but will still be forced to leave a lot of talent on the bench when they host the Cleveland Browns on Christmas Day.
Head coach Matt LaFleur says injured All-Pro performers like left tackle David Bakhtiari, cornerback Jaire Alexander, and edge rusher Za’Darius Smith won’t be available for that game.
Smith still hasn’t practiced so he’s not close while Bakhtiari and Alexander are rounding into form but aren’t physically ready yet.
Bakhtiari and Smith haven’t played this season, while Alexander has been recovering from a shoulder injury since Week 4.
