The conservative group “Empower Wisconsin” is calling for the removal of Milwaukee County District attorney John Chisholm.
Petition signatures are being collected by the group that wants the governor to fire him.
Chisholm has been harshly criticized for allowing Darrell Brooks Junior to be released on a low bail just days before he was accused of killing six people by driving through the crowd at the Waukesha Christmas Parade.
The petition forwarded to the governor’s office Monday cites “a dereliction of duty” by Chisholm.
The D-A’s term runs through 2024.
He has said he won’t resign.
