Authorities in Hobart say a 40-year-old man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound Wednesday at the end of a 10-hour standoff with police.
A 9-1-1 caller reported a domestic disturbance at 5:00 a-m.
A 25-year-old woman said her boyfriend, Jeffrey A. Patnode, was threatening to kill her and had fired a shot inside their home.
She wasn’t hit and her name hasn’t been released.
Authorities set up a perimeter around the apartment complex and tried to get Patnode to speak to them unsuccessfully.
Finally, a drone from the Green Bay Metro Fire Department spotted Patnode in a nearby wooded area, outside the perimeter.
As authorities approached they heard a gunshot and found Patnode dead hiding behind a tree.
