Eastern Wisconsin’s Representative in Congress has introduced a new bill aiming to help those with diabetes.
The Insulin Cost Reduction Act, written by 6th District Congressman Glen Grothman, looks to drive down the cost of insulin for Medicare Part D participants.
In a news release, Grothman said that “For many people with diabetes, having insulin is as important as breathing. The way the system is set up, however, the deck is stacked in favor of increasingly high list prices.”
The bill has been endorsed by the House Committee on Oversight and Reform Minority, who have also issued a report outlining how pharmacy benefit managers’ practices increase prescription drug prices, impact patient health, hurt competition, and distort the marketplace
