Gun violence has risen dramatically in Green Bay, and the Police Department is looking to curb that trend.
They will be hosting a community forum tomorrow evening at the Neville Public Museum, which will begin at 6:30 PM.
This forum will allow the public to voice their ideas on how to stop gun violence in the city, and for the Police to hear the public’s concerns.
The GBPD has responded to 79 cases of shots being fired in 2021, which is up significantly from 2018’s number of 18.
Last year, there were six homicides in the city, which was up from three the previous year, and only one in 2018.
The city’s Protection and Policy Committee has already approved the creation of a task force to address the issue, with appointments to the group being made by Police Chief Chris Davis.
