The man deemed responsible for an overdose death in the Manitowoc County Jail has been sentenced.
33-year-old Jerid Hanson of Manitowoc will spend the next 12-years in prison, followed by another 12 under extended supervision.
Hanson pleaded guilty to a Charge of 1st Degree Reckless Homicide in September, and six other charges were read into the record.
Hanson admitted to storing heroin in his body as he was brought into the Manitowoc County Jail, which authorities recovered most of.
However, they missed some, and Hanson gave that heroin, which was laced with Fentanyl, to 36-year-old Justin Hall.
Hall took the drug and died in his cell on September 15th, 2020.
