A Howard woman will be spending some time in prison after being convicted in a child neglect case.
26-year-old Sagal Hussein was sentenced to 15-years imprisonment and 10-years on extended supervision on charges of Neglecting a Child Resulting in Death, Moving/Hiding/Burying the Corpse of a Child, Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, and two counts of Neglecting a Child.
Three other charges were read into the record.
Authorities found Hussein’s five-year-old son in the trunk of her car last year, noting the child was significantly malnourished, and his body was moldy.
The boy required a wheelchair and needed help eating.
Investigators say the boy was dead for months before he was found by authorities.
