The Manitowoc County Soil & Water Conservation Department will be offering a Nutrient Management Class on the first three Fridays of January.
With commercial fertilizer costs doubling from 2020, it’s more important than ever to use the right amount of fertilizer to reduce nutrient loss to the environment and maximize economic returns.
Using too much or too little fertilizer in the year ahead could impact a farm’s bottom line.
That’s where the importance of nutrient management planning comes in.
In this 3-part class, participants will use their soil test results to write a NRCS 590 qualifying nutrient management plan and enter it into SNAPPLUS software.
A $400 stipend may be available to qualifying farms to cover the cost of soil testing and time away from the farm.
Call 920-683-4183 to sign up for the class or schedule an individual appointment.
