Bond for the man facing charges in the death of a 7-year-old Newton boy will stay at $100,000 cash.
That ruling came from Manitowoc County Judge Jerilyn Dietz, as the defense team for 51-year-old Timothy Hauschultz called for his bond to be lowered.
They say that since he has been in custody for two years, and his trial has been delayed due to appeals by Damian Hauschultz, he should be able to get out of jail.
They also argued that the evidence shows that Damian was the one responsible for the Death of Ethan Hauschultz in April of 2018. District Attorney Jacalyn LaBre disagreed, calling the trial delay a defense tactic.
Ultimately, Judge Dietz sided with the prosecution, and Timothy remains in the County Jail. Damien was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment, but as mentioned is appealing his case.
Also, Timothy’s wife, Tina McKeever-Hauschultz, was sentenced to five years imprisonment for her involvement.
