Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul is comparing the actions of a former state Supreme Court justice to the 1950s actions taken by U-S Senator Joe McCarthy.
Kaul urged Republicans to end the investigation into the 2020 Presidential Election led by Michael Gableman in a tweet Thursday.
The Democratic leader of the Wisconsin Department of Justice cites what he calls “the recklessness, the bullying, the wild, unsupported accusations.”
Gableman says the mayors of Madison and Green Bay should face possible jail time if they refuse to meet with him as part of his review of the November presidential election.
McCarthy was eventually censured and disgraced after his search for communists.
