The mother of the Waukesha Christmas Parade suspect says the system failed Darrell Brooks.
Dawn Woods says she’s not making excuses for her 39-year-old son and she offered condolences to the dozens of victims in an open letter.
Brooks is charged with killing six people and injuring 62 more in the November 21st incident.
Woods says her son has suffered from mental health issues for years and recently stopped taking his medication. She says he should have been treated – not locked up in jail.
