It won’t be one big check, but Wisconsin’s share of the national opioid settlement is estimated to be 420-million dollars.
State lawmakers approved the settlement with Johnson and Johnson Tuesday – plus three companies that distributed the addicting pills.
The total agreement nationwide is worth 26-billion dollars to the states. The money will be paid out over the next 18 years.
State and local governments will use it for recovery, treatment, and addiction services.
