The rumors have been confirmed, those who get their fuel at Kwik Trip will have to pre-pay starting January 3rd.
Rumors began circulating online several weeks ago that the change was coming, and the La Crosse-based convenience store chain has now confirmed those rumors to be true.
Kwik Trip has cited an increase in drive-offs as the reason for the change. Customers can pick between pre-paying at the pump, or by doing so inside.
For those concerned about how pre-paying works, you either slide your card at the pump, or you tell the cashier how much fuel you need, and they will set the pump to stop once you reach that level.
If you paid for more fuel than you actually needed, a refund of the balance will be available inside.
