Holy Family Memorial will be flipping the switch on the Love Light Tree this afternoon.
The virtual lighting ceremony will be held at 5:00 PM on the HFM Facebook page.
Proceeds from this year’s tree will go to the Holy Family Memorial Veterans Health Fund, which Patty Glasser explains calls back to their history with helping our nation’s heroes.
“You may recall that in 1991, Holy Family at the time officially merged with Manitowoc Memorial Hospital to become Holy Family Memorial,” Glasser told Seehafer News. “The name Memorial was created as a remembrance in honor of the veterans that Memorial Hospital was built to recognize.”
In fact, the Love Light Tree celebration, which was first held in 1986 by the Memorial Hospital Women’s Auxiliary, was held on December 7th, Pearl Harbor Day
While the date of the event has changed, the connection to Manitowoc Veterans has not.
A veteran will be lighting the tree this year, as a continued show of support for that community.
