The Badgers basketball team didn’t get much respect as the season started, but a title run at the Maui Invitational has boosted into the Top 25.
Wisconsin is ranked number-23 by the Associated Press and – for the first time – is considered a possibility for March Madness.
Three other Big Ten Conference teams made the poll: number-two Purdue, number-22 Michigan State, and number-24 Michigan.
In addition, Badgers sophomore Johnny Davis has been named Big Ten Player of the Week.
He was M-V-P of the tournament, scoring 71 points and grabbing 20 rebounds in the three games.
Wisconsin travels to Atlanta Wednesday night to play Georgia Tech in the Big Ten-A-C-C Challenge.
