In case you missed it, the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) released a report showing that long-term care facilities are suffering from the worst labor crisis of any health care sector.
While hospitals, physicians’ offices, outpatient care centers and other health care facilities have reached or surpassed pre-pandemic staffing levels, October data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) show nursing homes and assisted living communities have still not rebounded.
Nursing homes have seen their employment level drop 14 percent since the state of the pandemic, equating to 221,000 lost jobs.
