A major renovation project will put a whole new face on the south end zone in Camp Randall Stadium.
A ground-breaking ceremony is scheduled for this afternoon at 1:00 p-m.
The cost of the work will approach $78-million and will include the installation of a new FieldTurf playing surface, press box updates, and new premium areas in the U-W Fieldhouse.
The project will include expanded food and beverage service, dedicated restrooms, and climate-controlled amenities.
School officials say the work will be done in time for the Badgers to open the 2022 football season against Illinois September 3rd.
Meanwhile, Badgers standout linebacker Leo Chenal has been named a finalist for the Butkus Award.
Chenal leads Wisconsin in tackles with 92, tackles for loss with 15.5, and is second with 6.5 sacks.
He also has 43 solo tackles – all those stats piling up even though he missed two games.
If he wins, the junior would be the first Badgers player to do that.
The award is named for Dick Butkus, one of the greatest linebackers ever to play.
