A family of nine, including eight children, is being aided by the American Red Cross following a fire at their home yesterday afternoon.
Fire crews were dispatched to the home in the 700 block of South Ashland Avenue at around 3:30 PM and found the extensive fire in the rear of the building.
That section of South Ashland was closed off to traffic as crews battled the blaze.
The flames had spread from the first floor all the way up to the roof, but everyone was able to evacuate without injury.
The fire was reportedly started because the stove was left unattended, causing an estimated $140,000 in damage.
Another fire in De Pere Tuesday morning required six departments to help extinguish.
The fire was on the roof of the building on West Mathew Drive, and the building reportedly contained a biofuel product which contains methane.
That fire caused an estimated $120,000 in damage, but it is not clear how it started.
