Home sellers were quite happy last month in Manitowoc County.
According to statistics released by the Wisconsin Realtors Association, the number of home sales this October compared to last year were nearly the same, with 122 sold compared to 121 in 2020, however, they are selling for more, and are going quicker.
The average price increased from $145,000 in October of 2020 to $160,000 last month.
Also, the number of days on the market fell from 71 to 64 over that same time span.
Compare that to Sheboygan County, where the 161 homes sold went for an average of $200,000, and were on the market for 69 days.
These trends mirrored the state numbers, where the average price of $245,000 is a 7.5% jump from last year, and the average days on the market fell from 84 to 68.
Despite home sales declining in the second half of the year, Mary Duff, the 2021 Chair of the Board of Directors, Wisconsin Realtors Association says “2021 will still be a very strong year for home sales since buyers remain motivated, fueled by very favorable mortgage rates.”
