Reports of thefts from garages are on the rise in Appleton.
According to the Appleton Police Department, officers were sent to three different homes to investigate such claims, all of which would have been avoided if the homeowner had locked their garage doors.

Also, as more and more packages begin to arrive ahead of Christmas, police continue to urge residents to take the issue seriously.
Homeowners are encouraged to install motion sensor lights or a video doorbell such as Ring, to help deter would-be thieves.
Other options are to trim any bushes that would obscure your view of the front porch, or simply ask your neighbor to keep an eye out if you are out of town.
