A former Manitowoc County Sheriff has passed away.
George Wanish served as a County Traffic patrolman for 11 years and as County Sheriff for 8 years.
He later was a member of the County Board of Supervisors. Wanish was 94 years old when he died on November 19th.
County Executive Bob Ziegelbauer announced that in his honor, county flags will be flown at half-staff tomorrow on the day of Wanish’s funeral.
