Several area health departments and hospital systems have teamed up to warn residents of the rising COVID-19 concern as Thanksgiving approaches.
In a joint news release from places like Bellin Health, HSHS, Prevea, and the Manitowoc, Brown, and Door County Health Departments, it is warned that the positivity rate for the virus is increasing, as is the hospitalization rate.
Also, these hospitalized patients are trending younger than in the past, and they are remaining hospitalized longer, with more deaths occurring than ever before.
The group is asking area residents to stop, think and plan ahead if they’re hosting or attending holiday gatherings this year.
That includes limiting the size of gatherings, social distancing, masking, and getting vaccinated.
