Five people are dead and more than 40 injured when an S-U-V was driven into Waukesha’s Christmas parade Sunday.
Police say they have a person of interest in custody.
The parade was being live-streamed at the time.
A video shows a father talking of going “from one crumpled body to the other” as he searched for his daughter.
Authorities haven’t speculated on a motive for the driver to crash through barricades and hit dozens of people marching in the holiday event.
Information is still being collected so the number of victims could go higher.
Witnesses also reported hearing gunshots.
Authorities say a Catholic priest, several parishioners, and Waukesha Catholic schoolchildren were among the injured victims.
The Waukesha School District canceled Monday classes.
