A 9-year-old Door County boy is recovering in a Green Bay Hospital after accidentally being shot in the leg over the weekend.
The Door County Sheriff’s Office was notified of an accidental shooting in the Town of Nesewaupee at around 7:00 Sunday morning.
When they arrived, they learned that a 45-year-old man was attempting to clear his rifle, when it discharged, and the round struck the boy in the leg.
The boy, who had been lying on the couch, was flown to an unnamed Green Bay Hospital to be treated for his injury, but his condition is not yet known.
The Sheriff’s Office and the DNR are currently investigating the situation.
