
The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction reports about 95-percent of the school districts in the state have exceeded – or significantly exceeded – expectations.
The D-P-I report card gives 399 of the 421 public school districts a three-star or higher rating on a five-star scale.
The schools achieved that performance level despite the challenges offered by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Manitowoc Public School District continued to meet expectations, according to a statement issued by local officials.
One school, Madison Elementary, exceeded expectations, while five schools met expectations, and three were rated as meeting few expectations. McKinley Academy, in its final year as an alternative high school, was rated as needing improvement.
The Waunakee Community School District earned the only five-star rating in the report card issued this week.
Madison Metropolitan, Iowa-Grant, and Middleton-Cross Plains earned four stars.
